Part -Time Weekends - Parts & Service Specialist
Job Summary:
The Parts and Service Specialist supports the store’s repair and service department by assisting
customers, identifying and ordering parts, coordinating service work, and maintaining accurate
service records. This position works closely with the Small Engine Service Technician and store
management to provide timely, knowledgeable, and helpful service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greet customers and assist with equipment service and repair needs.
Receive equipment for service, document customer concerns, and complete service
paperwork.
Identify replacement parts using equipment manuals, parts diagrams, and manufacturer
resources.
Order, receive, and maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies.
Provide customers with repair status updates, estimates, and completion notifications.
Coordinate communication between customers, technicians, and management.
Assist with scheduling and prioritizing service work.
Process service invoices, payments, and parts sales accurately.
Maintain organized records of service work, parts, and customer information.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service and parts area.
Assist with basic product and equipment questions and direct technical questions to the
appropriate technician.
Assist with other store operations as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
Previous retail, parts, service, or customer service experience.
Knowledge of small engines, outdoor power equipment, or mechanical parts preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to identify parts and learn manufacturer parts systems and catalogs.
Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
Basic computer, math, and cash-handling skills.
Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively with customers and coworkers.
Work Environment:
This role works primarily in a retail store environment and may be exposed to varying
temperatures, dust, noise, exposure to gasoline and other common shop materials.
Varied schedules include nights, weekend, and holidays
Position requires bending, stooping, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
Position routinely requires lifting, loading, and carrying merchandise up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate applicable store equipment.
